Why do I take so many photographs? Why do I bother taking pictures of seemingly mundane, everyday scenes? The answer is that I love reliving my experiences and it helps me remember that “moment in time.”

This image of a sculpture of the crucifixion is doing double duty today as it freezes the moment of time when I visited the San Millan church in Segovia, Spain, as well as reminds me of the day of ultimate sacrifice we Christians call “Good Friday.”
Have you ever wondered why it is called Good Friday when it commemorates such a painful, excruciating day in the life of our Lord? The historical reasons remain unclear but the theological reasons are that as terrible as the death of Christ was, the result led to the Resurrection which means eternal life to all who believe.
